I have learn a lot about debt, budgeting and savings since marrying my husband, who is an excellent steward of his money, but even with his knowledge we have found ourselves in debt in a few times in our marriage.
In 2006, I started an organic and natural business, out of my home and made so many wrong decisions that before I knew it I had accumulated several thousand dollars of debt. I knew that I needed to do something about the decisions that I was making, and made several changes but seemed to have a hard time climbing out of the hole I dug myself into with my bad money choices. The next decision was a difficult but necessary choice and that was to close my business and find another way to make money, to get out of debt and maybe even make money.
How Budgeting Can Help You Do More Than Just Get Out of Debt
So many people are in the same place, I found myself several years ago, struggling with their own American dream of being in business for themselves, making money doing something that they love. The hardest part about that is when you also have debt because you tried to make your dream to come true.
There is still hope to making your American Dream come true… I know I am!
Get on a Budget
A budget is the very first step that is necessary to learning how to stay within your means, getting out of debt and making your American dream come true!
I'm so excited about this New American Dream that will be an amazing tool for everyone wanting to get out of debt, learn how to save and yes, have what they want with what they earn.
Once you have a budget set and know what your income is and where your money will be going, it is easier to make wiser choices because you have a plan. Get out of Debt
Having a plan to eliminate your debt and plan for it within your budget will make things visible and with an end goal in mind, you will be able to stay focused, knowing that you are working for financial freedom and control of what you earn.
The Debt Reduction tool from Mark and Lauren G's website is amazing because you can choose to work on small debt or higher interest rates with a plan that will give you just what you need to say good bye to the debt, once and for all! I needed something like this for myself and now I have it! You would love it, too.
Get What You Want
Saving for something, verses using a credit card, is so rewarding and the right way to work your money. Not only can you save hundreds of dollars in interest, but you will avoid the impulse buying decisions that so many are falling into traps from this habit.
Planning for savings in your budget is a good thing that many don't do, because of their current situations. Taking charge of your finances is the first step to regaining your own American dream, and getting the excitement back to what could be yours with some old fashion money skills, planning and budgeting.
I have already paid off a few thousands dollars of debt this year and seeing the light at the end of the tunnel for my own finances. Having the tools in place to help me continue to take the right steps to a brighter future, without debt and the freedom to make wise choices for the things in our lives, is something that gets me excited to share with you!
