Essential Oils for the Cold Season
We love the simplicity and ease of essential oils for the care of our family. When I first started using essential oils, it was in the early 2000s. I started with just two or three oils that we used all the time. As I learned more about different ones, and how they worked, I was adding them into our home ‘medicine bag’ that goes on trips with us.
I would love to share some of my favorites with you, but I would like to pass along some important information that took me years to learn and understand.
Essential oils need to have a carrier oil mixed with them to allow your skin to absorb them properly.
In times past, I would just rub the oils into my skin. I actually loved the feeling of some of the oils without the carrier. However, I learned that the carrier oil serves the purpose of helping your skin to absorb them prior to the air absorbing them.
In addition to this fact, it helps the oils to go deeper and last longer, while using less oils which saves you a lot of money over time. Now, I can’t add oils without a carrier!
I currently use fractioned coconut oil, and love it, but I will be trying some of the new carries that Rocky Mountain oils launched.
