Our family does a lot of field trips and many of them are history in nature, since we are big history lovers. Add our love of photography to the many field trips and you can easily see why we turn our homeschool field trips into keep sakes.
Here is how we take our photographs of our homeschool field trips and turn them into keep sakes:
Turn the lead page into something special
- Write your purpose for choosing the field trips that you took your family on
- Have your child write something about one or more of the field trips
- Catalog the field trips that will be highlighted in the photo books , like a content page
Make a collage page for photos of the same field trip and enter the name of where you went, you could also add the date of the field trip.
Include photos of the landmarks for the field trip.
In this photo books spread, we had visited Mount Vernon, the home of George Washington (photo on the bottom left page). I had added photos that we took of our family on that page and some of the photos of the activities my children did during our visit.
Include photos of some of the favorite things INSIDE field trip buildings.
This photo books spread includes photos of our trip to Colonial Williamsburg and the Governor's Palace. In the entrance of the Palace, we are taken by the amount of weapons displayed to be art. My boys absolutely love this room and look forward to seeing it each time we visit Colonial Williamsburg.
Close the photo book with a collage of special photos that you may not have enough to fill out for a full page on its own.
Now that you are inspired to turn your homeschool field trips into a keep sake, I would love to share with you my favorite place to put these into our photo books .
